Addiction Medicine Certificate

The Addiction Medicine Certificate at the University of Lynchburg is ideal for healthcare professionals and leaders who want to advance their careers, expand their expertise, and make a meaningful impact in addiction medicine.

You will explore the foundations of addiction, including neurobiology, neurochemistry, pharmacology, nonpharmacologic interventions, and the social aspects of chemical and behavioral addictions. The program also focuses on innovative approaches, emerging trends, and practical strategies that you can apply immediately in your practice. Special attention is given to developing an inclusive mindset and strengthening your ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.

Upon completing the certificate, you will be well-equipped for leadership roles in clinical practice or executive settings, ready to advocate for meaningful changes in addiction treatment and policies, and prepared to take your career to the next level.

This certificate is available through the University of Lynchburg Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program. It serves as an excellent introduction to the doctoral program or can complement and expand your current or previous doctoral studies.
