Yes. Our Center for Career Engagement Opportunities (CEO) assists students with advising and identifying resources for jobs, internships, and other experiential opportunities that foster learning, skill-building, and networking with employers and alumni. In addition to providing services for students, our office also provides services for alumni and employers.

There are hundreds of churches in Lynchburg representing a wide variety of faith traditions and preferences. To help students looking for a particular church experience or religious tradition, the Spiritual Life Center offers a non-exhaustive list of houses of worship that are near campus and that former students have regularly attended.

If you’re a new student planning to live on campus, you must complete the First-year Housing Application (new first-year students) or the Transfer Housing Application (new transfer students). The application will help us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences. To access the applications, log onto your Housing Portal and click the “Applications” tab on the left-hand side menu. The corresponding application will be displayed based on first-year or transfer status.

If you are a current commuter student or a student returning from a leave of absence needing on-campus housing for Spring 2025, please email [email protected] to request housing. Returning students are not guaranteed to be reassigned to a prior Fall assignment.

Before students can log into the portal, they must set up their University of Lynchburg network account and activate their account and email through our Passport webpage. The student must wait at least 24 hours before using that username and password to log into their Housing Portal.

Mail Services handles the University’s incoming and outgoing mail. This service is not affiliated with the U.S. Postal Service but follows its high standards. Our location is on the second floor of the Drysdale Student Center, near the Westover Room dining area. Our mail services team strives to provide quality service so that you can meet all your mailing and shipping needs.

All students are assigned a mailbox number and access combination to open the lock. 

  • Letters will be sorted and placed in your mailbox by noon on weekdays, excluding observed holidays.
  • Mail Services receives packages on campus and emails you a notification that your package is ready for pickup. Please have your University ID when picking up a package.

Yes! There is an annual Homecoming and Family Weekend each October. (The 2025 Homecoming and Family Weekend is Oct. 17-19.) However, parents and families can schedule campus visits through our Office of Admissions anytime during the year. We would love to see you around campus!

Each new student may bring up to two guests to orientation.

All students who live on campus are required to have a meal plan. The main dining hall is in the Drysdale Student Center. More locations on campus include Domino’s, Brewed by the Muse, El Si, Westover, and Starbucks at On Common Ground.

To simplify the process, we compiled a list of what to bring (and what not to bring) to campus for the big move.

Any student actively enrolled in classes for the current term is eligible to be seen in HornetCare located in Hundley Hall, Terrace Level. Visit their website for contact information and full details on hours, costs, prescriptions, health insurance, and confidentiality. 

Students who request medical care in the health center must complete basic demographic information, medical history, tuberculosis screening, and the Consent and Acknowledgement Form. These forms are found on the  Student Health Portal. Use the same username and password as your University network account.

The health center is operated in collaboration with Central Virginia Family Physicians. Registered nurses and nurse practitioners are on-site at all times to assess and treat most medical needs.


Routine visits to HornetCare are free. Charges for medications, lab tests, and special examinations (e.g., women’s health exams and sports physicals) can be billed to the student’s tuition account.

The safety and well-being of our entire University of Lynchburg community, including students, faculty, and staff, is a top priority. Full details about our campus safety resources and recommendations, including information about our Campus Safety Officers and security video monitoring, can be viewed online in detail.

Emergencies are rare, but when they occur, it’s essential to communicate and respond promptly. To ensure everyone’s safety, the University of Lynchburg has instituted emergency procedures that effectively inform the University community of the emergency status.

  • Emergency Information – Information on Emergency Notifications, Timely Warnings, Safety Announcements, evacuation information, and Shelter-in-Place Procedures.

LiveSafe – In our commitment to campus safety, the University of Lynchburg launched a new safety tool called LiveSafe. The LiveSafe app has already improved communication between students, employees, and campus security and allows for faster emergency response in distress situations. Our goal is to help build a safe campus together by having access to the latest safety information.
