New Students 2026-27

Deadlines

  • First-year housing application: June 28, 2026
  • Transfer housing application: July 12, 2026

2026-27 Application Process

If you’re a new or transfer student planning to live on campus, you must complete the “Housing Placement Application.” The application will help us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences.

  1. Create a Lynchburg network account: Before students can log into the Housing Portal, they must set up their University of Lynchburg network account and activate their account and email through our Passport webpage. NOTE: The student may need to wait 48-72 hours before using that username and password to log in.

  2. Complete the Application: To access the applications, log onto your Housing Portal and click the “Housing Placement Application” link (along the red bar under the picture of the Drysdale Student Center).

  3. For first-year students: Fill out the Housing Placement Application. Roommate selection will be done separately and the date is TBD, but will be communicated to incoming students. Please check University email for updates.

    • To be matched with a roommate, students must invite and accept each other in the system. Only students who have completed the housing application will appear in this process. Students can search for roommates by first and last name or other search criteria.
    • Students who have not selected a roommate by June 29, 2026, will be paired with a roommate by University Housing Operations.
    • First-year students will select their housing assignments through the Housing Portal. Students will receive an email to their University email address. All incoming first-year students are placed in Tate and Montgomery Halls. Any residential first-year students admitted after June 29 will be manually assigned to housing.
  4. For transfer students: Fill out the Housing Placement Application by July 12, 2026. Transfer and other incoming students will be placed in one of our returning student residential facilities. The housing coordinator will utilize responses shared on the application to make assignments. Any residential transfer students admitted after July 13 will be manually assigned to housing.

Returning Students

All students intending to reside on campus for the 2026-27 academic year must first submit a Housing Placement Application. This will serve as your intent to reside on campus for the upcoming academic year. Roommate Selection is a separate step and is anticipated to occur the last week of March (email notification will go out to students in advance).

If you do not submit a Housing Placement Application, you will not be included in roommate selection regardless of where you want to reside.

Steps

  1. SUBMIT a “Housing Placement Application” for the upcoming academic year.
  2. CHOOSE roommates beginning March 30, 2026.
  3. SELECT a location. More information coming soon.
    1. Reminder: If you do not submit a housing placement application, you will not be included in roommate selection regardless of where you want to reside or if you already know who you want to roommate with. This process is for all residential students.
