How to Get Your Room Assignment
If you’re a new student planning to live on campus, you must first pay your housing deposit. Then you must complete the New Student Housing Application (new first-year students) or the Transfer Student Housing Application (new transfer students) for the fall semester. These forms help us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences. To access the application forms, log onto your Housing Portal and then click on the “Applications” tab.
After they have submitted their house application, students can search for roommates through the Housing Portal. To do this, go to the Housing Portal, select “Room Selection,” and then choose “Select Roommates.” To be matched with a roommate, students must invite and accept each other in the system. Only students who have paid their housing deposit and have completed the housing application will appear in this process. We encourage all students to complete a Roommate Profile, located under the “Personal Information” tab, to enhance the roommate search function.
Housing applications for first-year students are due June 10, 2022. For transfer students, housing applications are due July 15, 2022. First-year student roommate requests are due June 27, 2022. Students who have not selected roommates by June 27 will be paired with a roommate by the Office of Housing and Residence Life and notified of roommate match no later than July 8, 2022.
New first-year students will select their housing assignments electronically through the Housing Portal on designated dates during the week of July 11-15. Transfer students will be placed in consultation with the housing coordinator. Housing and roommate assignments will be made available via the Housing Portal during the week of July 18, 2022 (first-year students) and the week of Aug. 8, 2022 (transfer students).
All incoming first-year students are placed in Montgomery and Tate halls. Transfer students and other incoming students will be placed in one of our upperclass residential facilities.
The University of Lynchburg accepts and considers requests for reasonable accommodations in campus housing at any time. Individuals requesting accommodations should complete and provide the Disability Accommodations Request Form for University Housing as soon as possible before moving into campus housing.
However, if the accommodation request is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into University housing, the University of Lynchburg cannot guarantee it will be able to meet the individual’s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.
To be considered for housing accommodations, students must apply for housing accommodations through the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. This can be a lengthy process, so students will want to review these guidelines and begin the process as soon as possible. The priority deadline to apply for housing accommodations is Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
