Spring 2025
All full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus at the University of Lynchburg, with the following exceptions:
- Student lives with a parent or legal guardian
- Student is married
- Student is a single parent
- Student is 23 years of age or older
- Student has 85+ earned credit hours and has been approved by the Office of Housing and Residence Life to reside off campus
If you’re a new student planning to live on campus, you must complete the New Student Housing Application. The application will help us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences. To access the application, log onto your Housing Portal and click the “Applications” tab. The application deadline is 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025. Students who do not complete the application by the deadline or are admitted after Jan. 5 will be manually assigned to campus housing and notified via the University email address of their assignment and roommate information.
If you are a current commuter student or a student returning from a leave of absence needing on campus housing for Spring 2025, please email solutionscenter@lynchburg.edu to request housing. Returning students are not guaranteed to be reassigned to a prior Fall assignment.
Accessing the Housing Portal
Before students can log into the portal, they must set up their University of Lynchburg network account and activate their account and email through our Passport webpage. The student must then wait at least 24 hours before using that username and password to log into their Housing Portal.
Housing Assignments
Students will be manually assigned to campus housing starting Jan. 6. They will be notified of their housing assignment and roommate information via their University email by Jan. 10. Housing assignments are final.
Incoming first-year students will be assigned to one of our first-year traditional residence halls (Montgomery Hall or Tate Hall). Incoming transfer students (not first-year) will be assigned one of our returning student traditional residence halls (Freer Hall, Hundley Hall, Shackelford Hall, or Westover Hall).
Assignments will be based on the space available. Students may include a roommate preference on their housing application. Please note that we cannot accommodate all roommate preferences due to the limited availability of open double rooms.
Due to increased enrollment, we will not offer buy-out single rooms in our residence halls for 2024-2025.
Housing Accommodations
The University of Lynchburg accepts and considers requests for reasonable accommodations in campus housing at any time. Individuals requesting accommodations should complete and provide the Disability Accommodations Request Form for University Housing as soon as possible before moving into campus housing.
However, if the accommodation request is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into University housing, the University of Lynchburg cannot guarantee it will be able to meet the individual’s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.
Students must apply through Accessibility and Disability Resources to be considered for housing accommodations. This can be a lengthy process, so students should review these guidelines and begin the process as soon as possible.
Arrival and Move-In
New international students should plan to arrive on Jan. 13 or 14. Please plan to confirm arrival plans with the Enrollment team. International students will participate in orientation on Jan. 15-17.
All other new and transfer students will pick up their residential keys on Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Campus Safety and Security, located on the first floor of Hall Campus Center. New students will need to create their University ID card and complete their parking registration (if applicable) at Campus Safety and Security upon arrival. Students will need to utilize their University ID card to access the exterior doors of the residential facilities. These students will participate in orientation on Jan. 17.
Students needing to arrive prior to the dates shared above will need to contact the Solutions Center at solutionscenter@lynchburg.edu regarding their early arrival needs.
