Embark on a transformative journey that goes beyond traditional classroom boundaries with our study abroad programs.
In today’s global world, employers place an ever-increasing importance on having a globally and culturally competent workforce. There is no better time to gain the cross-cultural skills and understanding employers seek than as a college student in a study abroad program. Upon return, study abroad students rave about their experiences and affirm that what they gained from their time overseas far outweighs the costs involved.

The University of Lynchburg study abroad exchange program allows you to enroll in classes at one of the University’s sister schools. You’ll earn transfer credits for the classes you take if you receive a letter grade of “C” or better.
Because you will be taking courses through one of our international partner institutions, you will pay University of Lynchburg tuition. This means your financial aid would continue to apply.
You will pay your tuition directly to the University of Lynchburg. It is your responsibility to cover your international airfare and living costs while abroad — room and board and personal expenses.
If you are interested, schedule an appointment with our office to begin the application process.
Each year some University of Lynchburg students elect to study abroad for a semester or academic year.
University of Lynchburg students have studied abroad in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Chile, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and others.
If you are interested in a semester/year-long or summer program not sponsored by the University, make an appointment with our office to discuss your options, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities, and to learn about the University’s policies and procedures for these programs.
The coursework, conducted in English and taught by a global team of faculty, includes international business and management, computer science, and social work. You’ll take classes with Austrian and international students. The university also offers a German language course. There is a residence hall for international students.
“We have many different professors from different parts of the world teaching our classes, which gives us different world perspectives we wouldn’t get otherwise. There are 60 international students here this semester, not including the local Austrian students, and we all work very closely together in groups regularly, and they, too, bring many different perspectives to the table.” – Austin Jones ’10 (Management)

Hannam University’s Center for International Relations (CIR) offers University of Lynchburg students the opportunity to study in South Korea for a full semester.
Courses at the University’s Linton Global College are taught in English, though students are encouraged to enroll in a Korean language class during their studies at Hannam.
Hannam University also has a summer program where Lynchburg students explore a new culture and way of life by attending the three-week-long Korean Studies Summer Program (KSSP). Students enroll in a 3-credit course focusing on Korean language and culture. During the KSSP, students will take part in cultural activities and excursions with their Korean “buddies” — an excellent way to experience Korean culture and make lifelong friends.
Students enrolled in the KSSP do not pay tuition to the University of Lynchburg; instead, they must pay tuition to Hannam University to cover their international airfare and personal expenses while in South Korea.
For more information, please visit the Hannam University website.
