The University of Lynchburg is expanding the Aspiring Educator Tuition Discount, previously available exclusively to students pursuing the Master of Education in Special Education. Effective at the start of the 2025-26 academic year, the 40% tuition discount will be available to incoming students across all MEd programs and associated certificates.

The Aspiring Educator Discount aims to support current educators, aspiring educators, and paraprofessionals seeking advanced degrees to enhance their professional skills and impact on student learning.

“This expansion reflects Lynchburg’s strong commitment to fostering educational excellence and making graduate education accessible to more educators,” said Dr. Holly Gould, program director for the MEds in curriculum and instruction, interdisciplinary studies, and instructional design and technology

“By broadening this discount, we hope to empower all educators to reach their career goals.”

Dr. Mac Duis, who advocated strongly for expanding the discount to include all current and future MEd programs, noted, “Investing in educators through this initiative directly benefits our schools and communities.

“We’re excited to see the positive effects this discount will have as more educators are able to build skills that translate directly into improved classroom experiences.”

Dr. Lucinda Spaulding, director of the MEd in Special Education, added, “We’ve seen tremendous success since initially launching the discount for special education. Extending it to all of our MEd programs just made sense.”
