The University of Lynchburg has scheduled a power outage for Monday to Friday, July 27-31. The electrical shutdown is necessary to replace the University’s Vista switch.

“This planned power outage seeks to address aging electrical infrastructure on our campus,” said Michael Vaughan, assistant vice president of operations.

The entire main campus, located at 1501 Lakeside Drive, will be affected by the shutdown. Minimal impact to traffic patterns near the intersection of College Drive and Bell Street will occur during this timeframe.

The University has coordinated with vendors and the City of Lynchburg. Others who need assistance during this time should contact the Office of Campus Safety and Security at 434.544.5555.

For more information about the project and areas impacted by it, contact Vaughan at [email protected] or 434.544.8602.
