Chief People Officer

The University of Lynchburg, a nationally recognized private university founded in 1903, invites nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for the position of Chief People Officer (CPO). The CPO serves as the lead human resources officer for the University. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the CPO provides strategic vision, leadership, and operational management of the University’s comprehensive human resources functions, partnering closely with Institutional leadership, regarding human capital needs and initiatives. The CPO will lead implementation of all human resources policies, initiatives, operations, and systems, aligning with the University’s strategic plan.

The University seeks a dynamic, service-driven, and innovative HR leader passionate about advancing employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and organizational culture. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies in talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compensation, HR compliance, diversity and inclusion, and organizational development.

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits package. This is an on-campus position.
