The University of Lynchburg’s chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the national collegiate theatre honor society, will present “I am Frankenstein” at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18.
The annual Theatre Honorary Play will be staged in the Studio Theatre, which is located on the lower level of Dillard Fine Arts Center. Admission is free, but please note, latecomers cannot be seated.
“I am Frankenstein” stars Lorelei Mayberry ’28 as Mary Shelley and Samira Gharavi-Nouri ’26 as The Creature. The play, adapted from Mary Shelley’s classic novel “Frankenstein,” was written by John Haman.
As described on the website Stage Partners, the 90-minute play “unearths two creatures who were tortured and abandoned by their makers: Victor’s famous monster, and the teenage writer Mary Shelley herself” and is a “highly theatrical retelling of Shelley’s classic.”
Lynchburg’s production is directed by Connor McCroy ’23.
