Registration is currently underway for ABOVE, a unique orientation experience open to incoming first-year students at the University of Lynchburg.
ABOVE, which stands for “Above and Beyond Orientation Value Experiences,” is a multiday adventure program, held Aug. 1-7. It’s led by the University’s Outdoor Leadership Programs and includes hiking, camping, caving, paddling, and other outdoor activities.
The program not only gets new students out into nature, it gives them opportunity to meet other students, faculty, and staff before classes start Monday, Aug. 9. ABOVE is optional and offered in addition to Student Orientation and Registration, or SOAR. The cost is $300 per student and participation is limited to 25 students. Participants also must be able to swim.
