Tim Russon, video producer for the University of Lynchburg’s Office of Marketing and Communications, was selected to judge the video competition of the University & College Designers Association 2025 Design Awards.

According to the UCDA’s website, Russon and other category judges — photographers, design educators, and designers working primarily for educational institutions — were “hand-picked” from throughout the U.S. to judge the prestigious competition.
Russon has been making videos at Lynchburg since 2018. In addition to creating videos for nearly every campus department and program, including outdoor recreation, Westover Honors, and the Bonner Leader Program, Russon and his media team shoot Homecoming, Commencement, and other annual, cornerstone events.
Russon also shot and edited two University holiday films, “A Dell-lightfully Royal Holiday” and “The Grand Hopwood Hall.” The short films were honored among the best campus holiday videos by Inside Higher Ed magazine in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
In 2022, he received two Educational Digital Marketing Awards: a gold for a two-minute video spotlighting a Lynchburg student and a silver for a digital ad, “At Lynchburg, We, Havidol,” which pokes fun at “typical” college ads.
