The University of Lynchburg welcomed 502 new undergraduate students for the Fall 2026 semester, its largest incoming undergraduate class since 2018.
The newcomers include 96 transfer students and 406 recent high school graduates. They came from 29 states and 16 countries. Seventy-six percent live on campus, and 100% are receiving scholarship support.
“Recruiting 502 new students is a reflection of the work our whole community put in, from admissions counselors building relationships with every family to faculty and staff who make this a place students want to call home,” said the University’s president, Dr. Sally Selden.
“We’re proud of this class, and we’re just getting started.”
Selden, in her first semester as Lynchburg’s president, has a goal of reaching 2,032 undergraduate students by 2032. The University’s undergraduate enrollment currently stands at 1,360. Total enrollment at Lynchburg is 2,291, which includes 924 graduate students.
The Doctor of Medical Science has the largest enrollment of Lynchburg’s graduate programs, with 226 students. It’s followed by the Doctor of Executive Leadership, or DEL, which currently has an enrollment of 137.
Launched in 2024, the DEL was originally designed to prepare healthcare providers and administrators for high-impact executive and leadership roles. The program was expanded in 2026 and now also has concentrations in corporate leadership, ethics of artificial intelligence and technology, and government and public leadership.
In 2026, the University also launched its first PhD program, the 100% online Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies. Students in the program choose from five concentrations: interdisciplinary, education, healthcare, nonprofit, and sports administration.
There are 18 students enrolled in the PhD program.
