The University of Lynchburg is excited to announce a new partnership with TimelyCare to provide a free 24/7 virtual health and well-being platform for students. This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing the mental health and well-being support available to our community.
Recognizing the importance of having access to responsive and quality mental health support, the University of Lynchburg is committed to fostering an environment where mental well-being is prioritized and supported.
TimelyCare is a virtual health and well-being platform tailored specifically to meet the needs of higher education. It provides up to 12 scheduled counseling appointments per year, health coaching, and psychiatry referrals, as well as their 24/7 self-care content and TalkNow mental health support services at no cost to students.
“We believe that supporting mental health is key to holistic development,” said Kristen Cooper, vice president of university experience and student success at the University of Lynchburg.
“Academic success is intertwined with mental well-being, and through our partnership with TimelyCare, we are offering comprehensive mental health resources that empower our students to reach their full potential.”
The platform boasts a large and diverse provider network, including accommodation for over 240 languages, allowing for culturally responsive care that reflects Lynchburg’s values of inclusivity and belonging.
TimelyCare will function as a supplement to the University’s Hornet Care health and counseling services, which will continue to offer in-person services. The platform will also serve as a source of professional development, providing resources to faculty and staff on how to address concerns and best support students who may be struggling with their health and well-being.
“Offering 24/7 access to TimelyCare’s virtual services is an invaluable addition to Hornet Care,” Cooper explained. “Now our community has the flexibility to access care anytime, anywhere, ensuring that help is always available when it’s needed most.”
Accessing TimelyCare services is simple. Students can download the TimelyCare app or visit the TimelyCare website to sign up.
