Commencement exercises for the University of Lynchburg’s undergraduate Class of 2022 were held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at Shellenberger Field. All told, 425 undergraduates — 189 Bachelor of Arts and 236 Bachelor of Science — were recognized.

Blake Minnix ’21 wasn’t sure if his grandfather, whom he calls “Pops,” was serious when he first started talking about earning his bachelor’s degree at Lynchburg. “I thought he was just joking around with me,” Blake said. “It really didn’t set in until my first year, when I saw him on campus or had friends asking if I was related to him because they had classes with him.”
Lynchburg announces in-person Commencement for classes of 2021, 2020
The University of Lynchburg announced today that it has reconsidered prior graduation plans. Due to recent changes in directives from the Virginia governor’s office, Lynchburg will be able to hold in-person ceremonies for this year’s graduating Class of 2021, as well as last year’s Class of 2020.

The University of Lynchburg will hold a virtual conferral of degrees on Saturday, May 16, ahead of its in-person, on-campus commencement ceremonies planned for October 30 and 31, 2020.
