Gloria Witt will give the keynote address at the University of Lynchburg’s undergraduate and graduate Commencement ceremonies on May 15 and 16.
She is the founder and CEO of Define Success Coaching & Facilitation Services, an executive and leadership training firm based in Lynchburg, and also was the Democratic 5th District Congressional candidate in 2024.

Witt is currently involved with the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance Workforce Development Committee and the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and she is a past president of the Amherst, Virginia, branch of the NAACP.
She has been on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg for 16 years, including serving as a past president, and was the organization’s 2011 Board Member of the Year.
She has received numerous honors, among them the Lynchburg Humanitarian Award, the Bud Porter Passion Award, and the Jim Taylor Dedication to Service Award.
The Amherst County Museum and Historical Society honored Witt, an Amherst, Virginia, native as one of the “Women Making a Positive Difference in Amherst County (1920-2020).” In 2025, The Links Inc. recognized Witt for her voter outreach efforts with its National Trends and Services Award.
Witt has a bachelor’s degree in communications, with minors in sociology and economics, from Randolph College; a Master of Business Administration from Capella University; and a graduate certificate from North Carolina State University’s Business Coaching Institute.
