Lynchburg to host ‘AI for Educators’ workshop
The University of Lynchburg will host a workshop for educators seeking to use the power of artificial intelligence to enhance their classroom performance. The workshop, “AI for Educators: Streamline Your Planning and Engage Your Students,” will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to teachers, but does require registration.
The workshop, led by Dr. Holly Gould, program director for the MEd in Instructional Design and Technology, and Charley Butcher, the University’s chief educational technology officer, will provide practical tools for integrating AI into lesson planning and classroom activities.
“AI gives educators the tools to allow learners to have choice, voice, pace, and place in their education — effectively allowing for personalization for each student,” Butcher said.
Participants will learn how generative AI can streamline planning by creating engaging prompts, quizzes, and differentiated instruction materials, while fostering creativity and personalized learning experiences for students.
The workshop includes hands-on activities, where participants can experiment with AI tools and collaborate with peers to explore the potential of AI in their teaching environments. Attendees are encouraged to bring their electronic devices.
