University of Lynchburg hosts ‘Universities on Fire’ author on April 4

Bryan Alexander, author of “Universities on Fire: Higher Education in the Climate Crisis,” will speak at the University of Lynchburg on Thursday, April 4.

The lecture, which is about the future of higher education in the context of climate change, will be held at 7 p.m. in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. Admission is free and the public is invited.

As described on his website, Alexander is an “award-winning, internationally known futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant, and teacher, working in the field of higher education’s future.”

He has a PhD in English language and literature from the University of Michigan and is currently a senior scholar at Georgetown University.

Alexander is the founder of Bryan Alexander Consulting LLC. He also speaks and publishes frequently. His work has appeared in The Atlantic Monthly and Inside Higher Ed, and he has been interviewed by or featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, National Public Radio, and other news outlets.
