Crystal Wilkinson, a recent recipient of a Writing Freedom fellowship and former Poet Laureate of Kentucky, is the award-winning author of several works, including the culinary memoir "Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts" and the poetry collection "Perfect Black." She has received numerous accolades, including an NAACP Image Award and an O. Henry Prize. Currently, she teaches creative writing at the University of Kentucky. Her upcoming memoir, "Heartsick," will be released by Crown.
