In nominating Brewster, Westover Unit Leader Tracy McCray described her employee as an overall great communicator who has “never missed a day of work.” She praised Brewster’s leadership skills and work ethic and said, “We are grateful to have Tanisha as our student supervisor. She is awesome.

“We have watched Tanisha grow as a student worker at first, now as a student supervisor. She takes pride in her work as well as training other freshmen students. She always has a smile and willingness to work hard in helping others achieve their goals.”

For winning, Brewster received a plaque and a $200 prize. Both were presented during an exclusive, end-of-year reception for dining services employees. Brewster also will be honored at the University’s annual Academic Leadership Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 22.

In addition, Frances W. Cloyd Dining Services Student Leadership awards were presented to Jessica Fassett ’26, Chase Maters ’25, ’26 MBA, and Atifa Wardak ’28.

Cloyd was Lynchburg’s dietician and director of dining services from 1954 to 1986. She was presented with an Honorary Alumni Award in 1997. The Frances W. Cloyd Dining Services Fund, which sponsors the namesake award, was created by student dining services waiters and hostesses who worked with Cloyd.
