Lectures address faith, service, and anger
The Rev. Nathan C. Brooks will present the Jennie Cutler Shumate Lecture on Christian Ministry on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Snidow Chapel. His topic will be “Preparing for Caring: The Faith-Guided Path to Service.” This will follow his lecture the previous day on the topic of “Anger: Deadly Sin or Spiritual Ally?” at 4 p.m. at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Helping veterans heal spiritually
The Rev. Dr. Rita Nakashima Brock, a nationally known scholar on the power of Christian ministry to veterans as they return from war, will deliver the Jennie Cutler Shumate Lecture on Christian Ministry at Lynchburg College on March 23.
