According to a recent study from Old Dominion University, graduates of the University of Lynchburg were 81.5% more likely to earn a higher income 10 years after completing their degree than their peers who only received a high school diploma.

In fact, in 2022, the University’s graduates scored higher than the graduates of all other four-year schools in the Lynchburg area, including among others, Liberty University at 69.3%, Randolph at 78.2%, and Sweet Briar at 77.7%.

What makes some schools perform better than others? According to the report, it may come down to fostering a culture where students are empowered to succeed, where there is strong campus leadership and use of resources, and where students can be connected with internship opportunities.

Lynchburg President Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar said she was “delighted” with the results of the study, adding, “This surpasses the national average and places us among the leading private institutions in Virginia.”
