How to Apply
(Undergraduate)

Welcome to the University of Lynchburg! We recognize the value that international students bring to our community, and we are excited you are considering joining our vibrant and inclusive campus. Step 2: Submit Your Application Supporting Materials

Please send the following required documents with your online application or separately via email to [email protected]. Application review typically takes three to four weeks.
  • Official secondary school/high school transcripts: Include grades for all courses completed, a list of your final year courses, and an explanation of the grading system and your GPA. Our international undergraduate students typically have a “B” minimum GPA.
  • For international transfer and second-degree applicants: official university transcripts.
  • English Language Proficiency: You must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting scores from one of the following:
    • TOEFL: Minimum score of 78 on the Internet-based exam. The University of Lynchburg college code is 5372.
    • IELTS: Minimum score of 6.0.
    • Duolingo English Proficiency exam: Minimum score of 100.
    • PTE: Minimum score of 59.
  • SAT Exam (Recommended): While not required, we advise students who can take the SAT. It serves as another tool for assessing applications. The University of Lynchburg SAT code is 5372.
  • Letter of recommendation: One letter from a secondary school teacher or someone who can speak to your ability to succeed at the University of Lynchburg may be required. It can be submitted via mail or email.
  • Essay: A 250-500 word essay on one of the provided topics:
    • Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk, or ethical dilemma and its impact.
    • Discuss a personal, local, national, or international concern and its importance to you.
    • Explain why you wish to study in the U.S. and what your goals are for this endeavor. You can submit your essay by mail or email.
  • Copy of passport: A photocopy of the front informational page showing your biographical data. Submit by mail or email

Application Deadlines

Please note these important application deadlines for international students:

Undergraduate:

  • Fall Semester: June 1
  • Spring Semester: October 15

Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered based on space availability. Please remember that international applications are time-sensitive.
