Guidance for Every Step of Your Journey
Your academic advisor is here to help you plan your courses, explore majors, and stay on track for graduation. Whether you’re a first-year student, transfer, or pursuing a second degree, you’ll have a dedicated advisor to support you.
Who Is Your Advisor?
At Lynchburg, your assigned advisor depends on your student status:
First-Year Students
- Traditional first-year students are assigned a first-year advisor who will help them transition into college life, choose classes, and build academic skills.
Transfer & ACCESS (Adult) Students
- If you’re a transfer, adult (ACCESS), or second-degree student, you’ll be assigned a specialized advisor who understands your unique needs.
Declared Majors
- Once you declare a major, you’ll be assigned a faculty advisor within that department. Your faculty advisor will help you plan courses and explore career opportunities in your field.
- Honors & Double Majors – If you’re in the Westover Honors program or pursuing two majors, you’ll have multiple advisors to ensure you meet all academic requirements.
