The Daura Museum of Art is located in the Dillard Fine Arts Building on the campus of the University of Lynchburg. The museum facility consists of exhibition galleries, collection storage, collections management workrooms, and staff offices.
The ability of the Daura Museum to meet its responsibility of protecting and preserving its collections is directly linked to the physical facility, and to the human resources and procedures dedicated toward that end. In keeping with AAM and AAMG best practices, the museum’s commitment to risk reduction is achieved through security devices, environmental controls, policies and protocols, and minimal handling of collections.
