Matt Klos, an award-winning, Baltimore-based artist, whose work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, will give a gallery talk at the University of Lynchburg’s Daura Museum of Art on Saturday, Nov. 15.
The lecture, “A Light in Many Rooms,” begins at noon. It is free and open to the public.

Klos’s talk is offered in conjunction with “Philip Geiger: Retrospective,” an exhibition currently on display at the Daura Museum. Presented in partnership with Steven Francis Fine Art of Lynchburg, the show includes more than 70 of Geiger’s paintings.
Praised for its “lustrous light, loose brushwork, and subtle color” and for how it captures “the subtle atmosphere of peaceful moments,” Geiger’s work has been exhibited at galleries across the U.S.
Geiger studied at Washington University in St. Louis and Yale, and he taught art at the University of Virginia for more than 30 years.
Since the exhibition opened in mid-August, people from all over the world have viewed it.
“An exciting aspect of this exhibition is that every time I check our guest book, I see names of visitors from all over the country,” the Daura’s director, Brooke Marcy, said. “We have had people from Seattle, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Maryland, among others.
“Internationally, visitors have come from Nigeria, Canada, Ireland, and South America. It is truly remarkable to have such a diverse group visit the Daura Museum of Art.”
The Geiger exhibition runs through Friday, Dec. 12.
The Daura Museum’s hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, noon-4 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is closed on Mondays and University holidays. For more information, email [email protected] or call 434.544.8595.
