eLevate Program FAQ

Powerful Technology, Ready on Day One

eLevate puts a brand-new Apple MacBook Air M5 directly into your hands, giving you a common technology platform and seamless mobile access to university resources from your very first day on campus.

When you receive your laptop, you’ll be asked to sign the Program Equipment Lease Agreement. We recommend reading through it before you arrive so you know exactly what to expect.

What is the eLevate Laptop Program?

eLevate equips students and faculty with a shared technology platform and mobile access to university resources wherever learning happens. Every incoming full-time first-year student is automatically enrolled and receives an Apple MacBook Air M5 (13″), ready to go from day one.

Participating students pay just $200 per semester, spread across 8 semesters, for full access to the program and everything it includes.

Your eLevate fee covers a complete, worry-free technology experience, including a University-provided MacBook Air M5, configuration and setup for wireless services, 24/7 wireless access across academic buildings, residence halls, and remote campus locations, hardware and software support, AppleCare for MacBook Air for the duration of the program (this coverage applies only to the program laptop, not other personal devices), a loaner laptop if yours ever needs repair, and laptop loss, theft, and accidental damage insurance, each with a deductible.

You’ll receive a MacBook Air M5 with a 13.6-inch display in silver. To keep the program consistent and fair for everyone, individual color selection isn’t available.

All eLevate participants receive the same hardware configuration, so the program can offer the same strong support and pricing to every student. Customizations to memory, storage, or case color aren’t available.

Yes — it’s yours to keep! Students who stay enrolled full-time for all eight semesters and pay the fee each term keep their MacBook Air after graduation. If you choose to transfer before completing eight semesters, you can purchase the computer and take it with you.

You’re welcome to keep all of your personal data and applications. Our Help Desk staff will simply remove the University-specific settings before you head out into the world with your laptop.

You’re covered. Every MacBook in the program includes four years of AppleCare Plus, so help is always close at hand. Students are responsible for the $99 Apple repair fee when applicable. For issues outside AppleCare’s coverage, such as broken screens or liquid damage, a repair charge applies (per device, per incident). Repair fees are billed to your student account and can be paid through MyHive.

We’ll get you back up and running quickly. A replacement fee will be charged to your student account, and your laptop will be replaced with the same model.

Staying current is easy. While connected to the University network, you can access updates through the Self Service application, or get them anytime through Apple Software Update in the App Store.

You have the freedom to expand your toolkit anytime — install additional apps through the Apple App Store or directly from the web.
