Comfortable, Convenient Housing for the Summer
Summer intern housing is available in a comfortable residential setting designed to support students throughout their internship experience.
- Housing is available in five townhome-style buildings, with both two-story townhouses and single-level apartments.
- Students receive an exterior key and a room key for their assigned unit.
Priority application deadline: April 30, 2026. Completed applications received by this deadline are guaranteed a space.
The University of Lynchburg offers summer housing for college interns participating in internships or supervised research programs. Participants must be current college students and at least 18 years old. Housing is available in townhouse-style buildings from May 22 through August 1, 2026.
The application opens February 13, 2026.
Rates
Summer internship housing costs $2,350, which includes a non-refundable $250 application fee.
The priority application deadline is April 30, 2026. Completed applications received by this deadline are guaranteed a space.
Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be placed on a waiting list and offered space on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility and Housing Payment Options
Summer intern housing is available to current college students who are at least 18 years old and participating in a summer internship or supervised research program.
Applicants fall into one of two housing payment categories:
Non-Sponsored Interns
These interns pay the University of Lynchburg Catering and Events directly for housing.
- Cost: A single-occupancy bedroom with a shared bathroom and living area is available for the full summer at a total cost of $2,350.
- Application Fee: A non-refundable $250 application fee is required at the time of submission.
Company-Sponsored Interns
These interns have housing costs covered by their employer through a direct agreement with the University.
- Application Fee: No application fee is required.
- Requirement: The housing application must still be completed to reserve a space.
2026 Summer Intern Housing
Interns are categorized by who is responsible for housing costs. Review the options below, then complete the application process to reserve your space.
Non-Sponsored Interns
Definition: You are paying University of Lynchburg Catering and Events directly for your stay.
Total Cost: A single-occupancy bedroom with a shared bathroom and living area is available for the full summer at a total cost of $2,350. This includes an inclusive nightly rate of $36.72, based on a $35.72 base rate plus state and local taxes.
Requirement: A non-refundable $250 application fee is required at the time of submission.
Company-Sponsored Interns
Definition: Your employer is covering the cost of your housing through a direct agreement with the University.
Requirement: No application fee is required, but the housing application must still be completed in order to secure your spot.
Application Process
All interns, whether sponsored or non-sponsored, must complete the required steps below.
Complete the Housing Application
Available starting February 13, 2026. All interns age 18 and older must complete the housing application and acknowledge the Intern Housing Agreement.
Submit the Intern Housing Deposit
Non-sponsored interns are required to submit a non-refundable $250 Intern Housing Deposit. Please see the Make a Payment section below to submit your payment.
Company-sponsored interns are not required to submit an application fee, but they must still complete the intern housing application to secure their spot.

Non-Sponsored Interns
Non-sponsored interns must submit a non-refundable $250 application fee at the time they apply. Applications will not be considered until the full application fee has been received.

Payments may be made online by credit card or by check. All payments must be made before arrival.

Payment Schedule and Important Dates
- Initial payment due (50% of remaining balance): Friday, May 15, 2026, by 5:00 PM
- Final payment of remaining balance: Friday, July 3, 2026
- Intern housing opens: Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM
- Intern housing closes: Saturday, August 1, 2026
Company-Sponsored Interns
Companies may submit bulk payments on behalf of their interns. Company-sponsored interns are not required to pay the $250 application fee, but they must still complete the housing application.
Bulk payments must be made in one full payment. Payment plans are not available, and full payment is required before move-in. Bulk payments are due by April 15, 2026.

The Catering and Events Office will invoice the remaining housing balance after the deposit has been received.
Housing Availability Notice
University and residence hall opening and closing dates are subject to change due to force majeure events or other extraordinary circumstances beyond the University’s control, including government action or University directives.
Pay Your DepositA couple of important notes:
- If the $250 application fee is due at the time of application, then the line “The deadline to make a payment is May 1, 2026” should probably be removed or rewritten.
- If May 1, 2026 is actually meant to be a separate payment deadline, you need to say what payment it applies to.
All payments are non-refundable. Payment deadlines vary based on applicant type and payment stage.
