At the Donovan Media Development Center, students and employees work together on projects, developing electronic and print media for campus- and community-based organizations. The center also offers individual consultation and group workshops on project organization and budgeting. The center helps train tomorrow’s media professionals by providing real-world experiences for the University of Lynchburg students.

Financial Technology Center (Trading Room)

The trading room has a Bloomberg Terminal and three Rise feeds — large monitors that display financial news and live data on commodities, interest rates, and stocks from U.S. and foreign markets. Students can also become Bloomberg-certified at no additional cost. Through the Student-managed Investment Fund, business and economics students have the unique opportunity to invest $100,000 from the University’s endowment in the stock market.

“A student gets to see what an actual trader, analyst, or head of investment deals with daily — meaning, that you get to sit in that seat and figure out if this is something you can be passionate about. It allows you to get invaluable information about global markets that serve as a foundation for any interview process or future job a student might come across. It will also help future portfolio construction and analyzing securities.” — Cole Barrett ’17
