COVID-19 Travel Update
The University of Lynchburg is committed to providing valuable study abroad and domestic study away opportunities while keeping the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff at the forefront. The University continues to track public health and travel advisory guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of State, and local public health officials.
Faculty-led international programs have been canceled through the Fall 2021 semester. However, students are allowed to participate in semester abroad programs with our affiliate providers during the Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022 semesters. Participants must submit a petition form to the Center for Global Education to be reviewed and decided on by the COVID-19 Task Force. Please email studyabroad@lynchburg.edu for more information. We encourage students planning to study abroad during these semesters to develop a backup plan in case of program cancellations and carefully read the provider’s program cancellation policy.
Winter 2021-22 and summer 2022 faculty-led programs have been approved for select locations and applications for those programs will remain open. This does not guarantee that all programs will run. The University continues to track the coronavirus situation and will convey any changes and/or cancellations with as much advanced notice as possible.
The Center for Global Education will communicate with all applied students as more information is available. Students should contact the Center for Global Education at studyabroad@lynchburg.edu with any questions.
Opportunities for Undergraduate and Graduate Students
We offer multiple faculty-led, exchange, and direct enrollment study abroad programs designed to prepare students for competitive careers in a global society. Our partnerships with colleges and universities around the world make study abroad accessible for more students. In fact, Lynchburg students are more than twice as likely to study abroad as their peers at similar schools. You can join them!
