Locally-owned businesses and organizations can still register for the University of Lynchburg’s third annual business expo, Building Communities Through Partnerships, to be held on Friday, Feb. 27.

Hosted by the University’s African American Affinity Group, the event will be held from 2-6 p.m. in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. Admission is free, the public is invited, and light refreshments will be served.

The purpose of the expo is to highlight locally-owned businesses and organizations. Vendors from Central Virginia are invited to promote their businesses or organizations and sell their products and services.

Businesses and organizations that have signed up to participate include Birth in Color community-based doulas; CloudFit Software; Supreme Deals, a health and beauty and custom-made fashion and accessories vendor; Pierce Street Gateway, which focuses on history preservation, community well-being, and food security; Mary Kay Cosmetics; Shena’s Sweet Treats, a local bakery; and Sunshine Marketing Solutions, which offers publishing and course-creation services.

The cost to participate is $50 per table. Six-foot-long tables will be provided to vendors, along with a tablecloth and two chairs. All vendors are required to sign a waiver. Setup begins at noon. The deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 13. Participants can register here.
