Their Undeniably Life-Changing Story

Bachelors of Natural Sciences with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy; Pensacola Christian College

What sparked your interest in physical therapy?

My passion for physical therapy began in high school after my grandmother suffered a severe stroke that left her immobile. I had the opportunity to attend her final physical therapy session before her discharge, and witnessing the compassionate and expert care her physical therapist provided was profoundly inspiring. This experience solidified my admiration for the profession and reinforced my desire to pursue a career where I could help people achieve similarly fulfilling outcomes. This interest was further strengthened by an anatomy and physiology course I took in high school, where I developed a fascination with the human body, particularly the musculoskeletal system.

What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?

One of the most exciting things about the DPT program is the amount of information we get to learn about the human body and how it works. The body is fascinating and being able to dive deep into information provided in lectures, cadaver lab, and practical hands-on settings provides a well-rounded, interactive method of learning. But, this would certainly not be as enjoyable if it weren’t for the caring faculty that want to see each of us succeed as well as my cohort who I can already tell are going to become like family!

What do you hope to do with your degree?

My current plans involve working in either a sports or pediatric outpatient setting. If the opportunity arises, I would love to travel with an NFL team as the team physical therapist!

What are some of your hobbies?

Sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis), photography, playing the piano, singing, taking walks, watching a coastal Virginia sunset, exploring new coffee shops, going to the beach, and spending time with my family and friends

What is your favorite quote?

“Be generous with people. Be frugal with things.” – My dad
