The University of Lynchburg’s LIFE@Lynchburg program offers not-for-credit learning opportunities for community members age 50 and older. Ultimately, the program is a community of lifelong learners who explore topics together and do what the University of Lynchburg is known for — building friendships and connections that last a lifetime. The program features weekly presentations on a variety of engaging topics, taught by current and retired faculty and staff members or area educators and presenters. Ten classes are offered each semester (fall and spring), with occasional field trips during the semesters and over the summer. LIFE@Lynchburg is for people who love learning, want to dig deeper in their areas of interest, or discover something new. Visit our curriculum page for details about the fall schedule.

Our Counselor Education Program will host an Orientation on Thursday, August 27, beginning at 4:30 pm and ending no later than 7:00 pm. All newly enrolled students as well as most of our currently enrolled students will be in attendance.

You are invited to the Hill City Howlers (formerly Lynchburg Hillcats) to celebrate University of Lynchburg Night Hill City Howlers vs. Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Thursday, August 27, 2026 6:30 p.m. City Stadium 3180 Fort Ave Lynchburg, VA 24501 We have free tickets available for University of Lynchburg students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends. Please use this form to request your free ticket. Tickets will be available for pick up starting at 5 p.m. at City Stadium the day of the game. Join Love Heals at the University of Lynchburg for a benefit concert featuring indie pop band Oceanic, with Central Virginia indie rock band Catapult City opening the evening. The concert will take place Friday, Sept. 4, on the Dell in front of Hopwood Hall. Gates open at 6 p.m., and music begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, and donations are encouraged. All donations and a percentage of concessions proceeds will benefit Lynchburg Cares, the University of Lynchburg’s crisis fund, which has helped members of the University community through unexpected financial emergencies since 2009.. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. A clear bag policy will be in effect. Hosted by Lynchburg-based nonprofit Love Heals, the event brings the community together for an evening of live music while supporting University community members when they need it most. Make a gift.

Join us for the FIRST Service Saturday of the Fall 2026 semester. Miriam's House, a local non-profit that aims to end homelessness in our city, is responsible for securing volunteers along a crucial section of the race route. This volunteer event supports the work Miriam's House does in our community and supports the race team for a historical race in our community. We'll gather in the Mosaic Lounge (Schewel 231) to make encouraging signs for the VA 10 Miler runners, VA 4 Miler runners and walkers. Supplies, markers, and community will be provided. Join us for a creative way to support a fun community event. |
