LAYSi Youth Clinic Winter Fun Day
Wake Field House 1501 Lakeside Dr, Lynchburg, VA, United StatesCommunityCelebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a youth sports clinic hosted by the University of Lynchburg in partnership with LAYSi. This clinic is designed to introduce young athletes to multiple sports while building confidence, leadership, and lifelong skills through positive coaching and mentorship. The clinic will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Lynchburg Wake Field House and is open to students in grades kindergarten through seventh grade. Participants will attend skills clinics in sports such as soccer, volleyball, softball, and more. Clinics are open to both girls and boys. Registration is required. Following the clinic, families are invited to stay and cheer on the University of Lynchburg women’s basketball team at 2 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.

African American Recitation Program w/LCS
Memorial Ballroom, Hall Campus CenterLectures & Seminars“Still We Rise: African American Readings/Recitations” will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. The event will feature Lynchburg students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the wider community, reading or reciting a three-to-five-minute piece by an African American author, writer, or artist. Admission is free.
