Lynchburg is grateful for the support received each year from our donors. Donors are recognized and honored in our Honor Roll of Contributors for their contributions (including matching gifts) during the most recent fiscal year (July 1-June 30).

Annual

1903 Society

In 1903, Dr. Josephus Hopwood fulfilled a dream of establishing a college at which young men and women, through spiritual and intellectual development, would prepare for meaningful lives of leadership in their communities. To honor the accomplishments of Josephus and Sarah Hopwood and the many others who assisted them, the 1903 Society recognizes alumni, parents, and friends who, through their annual support of $1,000 or more, uphold the University of Lynchburg and its students.

Dell Society

Unrestricted annual support of the University is critical to our success. The Dell Society recognizes those donors who have made a gift of at least $5 to The Lynchburg Fund (formerly the Annual Fund) for three consecutive years, including the current fiscal year. The University of Lynchburg’s fiscal year is July 1 – June 30.

Founders Society

Established in 2018 and named in honor of those who founded this institution, the Founders Society recognizes those donors with lifetime giving of at least $100,000. Within the Founders Society are four distinct levels of giving, named for the four founders listed in A Beacon Through the Years: A History of Lynchburg College 1903-2003.

The Hive

Lynchburg Athletics enhances the student experience and gives our athletes the tools they need to succeed on the field and in the classroom. That success is made possible through the leadership provided by our outstanding coaching staff, and the private support of our alumni, parents, and friends. Lynchburg has a long and proud tradition of athletic excellence, and your support makes it all possible.

Hopwood Society

Formerly known as the Heritage Society, the Hopwood Society recognizes those donors who have chosen to create their own legacy at the University of Lynchburg by including the school in their estate plans. Named for Dr. Hopwood, this society is comprised of those who believe in his vision of a strong future for this institution.

Named for Frank F. Bullard, the first Chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees, who was instrumental in bringing Dr. Josephus Hopwood to Lynchburg
