The University of Lynchburg encourages all individuals to report interpersonal misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator. The conduct should be reported to law enforcement if it constitutes a crime.
Make a report using one of the following methods:
- Emergencies should be reported immediately to Campus Safety and Security (434.544.5555) or 911.
- Responsible Employees are required to report interpersonal misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator.
- Non-emergency incidents may be reported to the Title IX Coordinator by completing the form available here or contacting the Title IX Coordinator directly.
Supportive Measures
Supportive measures are non-disciplinary, individualized services offered to restore or preserve access to Lynchburg’s education program or activities. They are available to both parties regardless of whether a formal complaint is filed with our office.
Supportive measures include, but are not limited to:
- Mutual no-contact directives
- Campus ban
- Residence modifications
- Academic support
- Counseling services
- Safety planning
- Work schedule/location adjustments
- Campus escort services
- Leaves of absence
The Title IX Coordinator has the discretion to determine appropriate supportive measures based on the facts and circumstances of a situation and may discuss these options with a party as needed. Supportive measures may be in place indefinitely or until the matter is resolved.
Amnesty
To encourage a culture of voluntary reporting of Prohibited Conduct, the University of Lynchburg will not take disciplinary action for using drugs or alcohol when such personal use is disclosed by someone who reports Prohibited Conduct or assists in an investigation.
Retaliation
Retaliation against an individual for making a good faith report of Prohibited Conduct or assisting, as a witness or otherwise, with an investigation under this policy is prohibited.
Inquiries or complaints involving potential Title IX policies or violations also may be directed to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights ([email protected]; 800-421-3481).
