DPT Program Launching Fall 2010

The School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Lynchburg College will launch the new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in the fall of 2010. The three-year graduate program will prepare students desiring to enter the physical therapy profession and will equip graduates with the skills necessary to be leaders in their personal and professional lives.

The DPT program at Lynchburg College has been carefully planned to meet the needs of the student through proven instructional methods grounded in research. Congruent with the Lynchburg College mission of maintaining a student-centered learning environment, the DPT program features a full complement of dedicated program faculty who are truly interested in every student's success. Other program highlights include:

  • Curriculum focus on providing evidence-based physical therapy to patients/clients
  • Program focus on active student learning through case-based instruction
  • Coursework built around varied and frequent clinical education experiences
  • Clinical sites to include health care facilities across the Central Virginia region
  • Learning experiences that equip graduates to be leaders in the physical therapy profession
