Step 1: Apply

The University of Lynchburg offers two convenient ways to apply. First, you can use the Common Application — an undergraduate admissions platform that connects you with more than 900 member institutions, including Lynchburg. The Common Application becomes available on Aug. 1each year.

Alternatively, you may choose to apply directly through the University of Lynchburg Application. This simple online platform allows you to start, save, and complete your application at your own pace, making it an excellent option for students who prefer a more streamlined process.

In terms of timing, application deadlines are July 31 for the fall semester and Dec. 19 for the spring semester. However, if you submit your materials after these dates, your application will still be reviewed—though only on a space-available basis.

Step 2: Submit Your Application Materials

To complete your application, you’ll need to submit official college transcripts from the registrar’s office of every college or university you’ve attended. These documents can be sent either by mail or, more conveniently, through trusted electronic providers such as Escript, Parchment, or National Student Clearinghouse, which deliver transcripts directly to Lynchburg.

In addition, if you have fewer than 12 college credit hours, you must also provide official high school transcripts or GED results. While we accept unofficial transcripts for initial admission review, official copies will be required once an admission decision is made. Moreover, high school transcripts should include all courses and grades completed through junior year to ensure a full academic record.

Finally, to make the process even more personalized, you may schedule a campus visit to receive an unofficial transfer credit evaluation. To do so, simply call 800.426.8100, ext. 8300.

Step 3: Submit Recommended Materials

Official SAT or ACT scores are required only if you have completed fewer than 25 credit hours of graded college coursework. However, these scores may be waived if you graduated two or more years ago. When submitting your scores, be sure to use Lynchburg’s school codes: SAT: 5372 and ACT: 4368.

In addition, while optional, submitting supplemental materials can help strengthen your application and provide a more complete picture of who you are. A letter of recommendation from a professor, employer, or someone who can speak to your potential for success is highly encouraged. Likewise, an essay offers an excellent opportunity to share your goals, experiences, and reasons for choosing Lynchburg.

Next Steps

Once we receive your application and materials, we’ll review them and contact you with an admission decision or a request for additional information. You can expect to receive a decision within two to four weeks.
