Newport News, VA

Undergraduate degree and school:
Randolph College: Bachelor’s degree (double major in Sport & Exercise Studies and Economics)

What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
I have always loved science and became passionate about rehab throughout my internships in undergrad (AT, PT, and OT). In my two years as a Clinical Exercise Specialist with Sentara, I loved making connections with patients to better encourage them throughout their journeys.

What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?
I love learning from so many wonderful professors. They are all so passionate about teaching and sharing their expertise with us.

What do you hope to do with your degree?
I would love to do travel physical therapy in my earlier years. I plan to work in outpatient physical therapy and look forward to exploring different specialties’ throughout the course of our program (sports medicine, pediatrics, etc.).

What are some of your hobbies?
I love music, working out, going to the beach, being outside, and spending time with family!

What is your favorite quote?
Be the village!

Anything else that you’d like to share (i.e. something unique)?
In undergrad, I studied antimicrobial resistance thoroughly through my second major in Economics (determinants of antimicrobial resistance) and minor in Biology (use of bacteriophages).
