Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Direct and oversee all financial aid operations to guarantee strict adherence to complex federal, state, and institutional regulations (e.g., Title IV, student eligibility, Return of Title IV Funds), minimizing institutional risk and ensuring successful audits and program reviews.
  • Manage Financial Aid Programs and Funds: Administer and control the allocation, disbursement, and reconciliation of a large volume of federal grants (e.g., Pell), federal loans, state aid, institutional funds, and scholarships, ensuring all funds are accounted for accurately and ethically.
  • Develop and Implement Office Policy and Strategy: Establish and revise financial aid policies and procedures to improve efficiency, customer service, and compliance. Collaborate on institutional enrollment management strategies and long-range planning related to student access and persistence.
  • Provide Leadership and Supervision: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate professional and support staff within the financial aid office, fostering a customer-service-oriented environment and ensuring the team has the necessary expertise to process aid and counsel students accurately.
  • Student and Stakeholder Communication: Oversee financial aid counseling, workshops, and communication efforts to advise students and parents on application processes, eligibility, and financial literacy. Serve as a key liaison to the U.S. Department of Education, state agencies, and other internal departments like the Business Office, Admissions & Registrar’s Office.
