Biography:
Dr. Gould came to the University of Lynchburg from Sweet Briar College where she was on the faculty for 13 years and served as the Chair of Education and Director of Graduate Education. She has been an educational consultant and instructional coach for over 20 years in schools in the United States and Canada. She began her career as an elementary teacher and a teacher of the gifted in Alaska. She currently serves on several boards, including the Advisory Board of Teacher Education and Licensure, the Executive Board of the Virginia Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, and the Virginia Council on Economic Education at the University of Lynchburg. She also enjoys serving as an undergraduate education advisor and as a member of several doctoral committees.

- PhD in Educational Psychology with an Emphasis in Gifted Education from the University of Virginia
- MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbia University
- BS in Elementary Education from the State University of New York College at Geneseo
Research Interests
Dr. Gould enjoys a variety of professional interests, including teacher preparation, differentiation of instruction, multicultural education, curriculum and instruction, education of gifted students, and instructional technology. Her research interests include teacher education, culturally responsive teaching, and the education of gifted students.
