LAYSi Youth Clinic Winter Fun Day
Wake Field House 1501 Lakeside Dr, Lynchburg, VA, United StatesCommunityCelebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a youth sports clinic hosted by the University of Lynchburg in partnership with LAYSi. This clinic is designed to introduce young athletes to multiple sports while building confidence, leadership, and lifelong skills through positive coaching and mentorship. The clinic will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Lynchburg Wake Field House and is open to students in grades kindergarten through seventh grade. Participants will attend skills clinics in sports such as soccer, volleyball, softball, and more. Clinics are open to both girls and boys. Registration is required. Following the clinic, families are invited to stay and cheer on the University of Lynchburg women’s basketball team at 2 p.m. in Turner Gymnasium.

LAYSi Unity Walk and Celebration

Participants will gather for a walk through downtown, followed by a celebration highlighting local organizations, resources, and community engagement. The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning at the intersection of Fifth and Federal Streets. The Unity Walk & Celebration is open to the public and welcomes individuals, families, and organizations committed to building a more connected and inclusive community. Community organizations are invited to participate as exhibitors and share information about their services and programs. A $30 exhibitor booth fee will be collected following registration.

Minority Business Expo
Memorial Ballroom, Hall Campus CenterCommunityLynchburg’s African American Affinity Group will host its third annual business expo, Building Communities Through Partnerships, from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. The event will be held in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. Admission is free, the public is invited, and light refreshments will be served. The purpose of the expo is to highlight locally-owned businesses and organizations. Vendors from Central Virginia are invited to promote their businesses or organizations and sell their products and services. The cost to participate is $50 per table. Six-foot-long tables will be provided to vendors, along with a tablecloth and two chairs. All vendors are required to sign a waiver. Setup begins at noon. The deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 13.
