What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
After being an athlete for most of my life, I have experienced injuries resulting in physical therapy multiple times and I fell in love with the aspect of medicine through movement. Working with a clinician so closely every session made me feel confident in my recovery. I truly felt cared for and I can’t wait to inspire those same feelings in patients as a Physical Therapist!
What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?
Working with the Prosthetics and Orthotics Exercise group, which is the highlight of my week by far! It is incredibly motivating to work with real patients while learning from the 2nd and 3rd years. It is such a fun environment that reminds me of my purpose.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I plan to stay at U of L for an additional year to complete a Masters in Athletic Training to pair with my DPT. I would love to work in Sports Medicine with a professional team, or within the NCAA at a collegiate institution. Ultimately, I hope to genuinely make a difference in the lives of patients and support them as best as I can.
What are some of your hobbies?Â
I enjoy weight lifting, reading, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family!
What is your favorite quote?Â
“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” -James Keller
Anything else that you’d like to share (i.e. something unique)?
I have a few different collections (I could never just decide on one) including fossils, shells, beach glass, coins, Boy Scout patches, and vinyl records!
