University of Lynchburg joins Common App’s direct admissions program
The University of Lynchburg has joined Common App’s direct admissions program, which will provide over 200,000 first-generation and low-income students who are interested in college with proactive admissions offers.
Thornton Reading on Nov. 13 features naturalist J. Drew Lanham
Award-winning author J. Drew Lanham will visit the University of Lynchburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. His visit is part of the Thornton Reading Series and is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the reading.

It’s been quite the year for Dr. Kelly Ann Jacobson. After publishing the queer young adult novel “Robin and her Misfits” in April, the University of Lynchburg English professor is already collecting praise for her literary sci-fi novel “Weaver,” which dropped on Oct. 17.
Visit the University of Lynchburg during Discovery Weekend, Nov. 10-11
High school students are invited to visit the University of Lynchburg on Friday, Nov. 10, and Saturday, Nov. 11, for two days of adventure, campus tours, and information sessions. Students living outside a 60-mile radius who’ve applied and been admitted to Lynchburg will receive a hotel voucher for the one-night stay.
Best-selling author and illustrator Jan Brett to ‘cozy up’ at Lynchburg on Nov. 28
Jan Brett, internationally acclaimed children’s book author and illustrator, will visit the University of Lynchburg at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. The reading is part of Brett’s Winter Wonderland Bus Tour, her first one since 2019.

Baseball receives resolution from state representative Wendell Walker
The University of Lynchburg baseball team welcomed Del. Wendell Walker to Shellenberger Field Wednesday night as the state representative presented the Hornets with a copy of a resolution he offered during a special session at the state legislature.
University of Lynchburg announces AVP for marketing and communications
The University of Lynchburg has named Heather Bradley associate vice president for marketing and communications. Bradley, who joined the University full time in September, brings nearly two decades of communications and branding experience, including nine years at Liberty University.
