Emaleigh Smith ’27, a nursing major at the University of Lynchburg, is featured once again in WSLS 10’s November series, “30 Days of Hope.” In 2017, when the series launched, Smith was among the first foster kids highlighted by the local network. She was 12 at the time.

During Homecoming and Parents and Family Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21, the University of Lynchburg dedicated the Dr. Kenneth R. Garren ’07 HAA, ’20 DEd Plaza at Westover Hall.
Lynchburg raises $8.1 million in FY 2023
It was another outstanding year of giving at the University of Lynchburg, with contributions to the University totaling $8.1 million for Fiscal Year 2023. The numbers topped last year’s $7.7 million, continuing a strong upward trend spanning four years.
Generous gift boosts LIFE@Lynchburg fall season
The University’s popular lifelong learning program, LIFE@Lynchburg, is headed into its second year with lots of enthusiasm and a $60,000 gift from the Treadway Family Fund. Fall classes start Sept. 13 and take place every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon.

Chandler and his wife, Vickie, whose gift of $100,000 will support the renovations.

First-time giving up 74% as GiveDay 2022 surpasses donor goal
April 7 was a rainy day, but that didn’t stop the community from coming together and supporting the University of Lynchburg’s 2022 GiveDay. In all, 1,440 donors gave more than $280,000, easily surpassing the University’s goal of 1,119 donors for 119 years of Lynchburg history.
‘The Legacy Continues’ at Lynchburg’s Multicultural Gala
The University of Lynchburg’s Office of Multicultural Services hosted its fourth Multicultural Gala on Saturday, April 30. The popular, student-planned event — a rare opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to get dressed to the nines and literally walk the red carpet — was held in Hall Campus Center’s Memorial Ballroom. Two-hundred-twenty people from across campus and the surrounding community attended.
