University of Lynchburg launches Professional Development Institute with groundbreaking cannabis education certificate
The University of Lynchburg is the first institution in Virginia to launch a professional certificate in cannabis education. The Cannabis Healthcare and Medicine certificate is offered in partnership with Green Flower, the industry leader in cannabis education.

Dr. Laura Henry-Stone, associate professor and chair of environmental sciences and sustainability, will talk about College Lake and its 90-year history during a lecture at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, in Schewel Hall’s Sydnor Performance Hall.

Generous gift boosts LIFE@Lynchburg fall season
The University’s popular lifelong learning program, LIFE@Lynchburg, is headed into its second year with lots of enthusiasm and a $60,000 gift from the Treadway Family Fund. Fall classes start Sept. 13 and take place every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon.
