This program is currently under a “teach-out” plan. The program will be discontinued, but current students enrolled in the program will be allowed to complete their degrees.
The musical theatre minor combines studies in the theatre and music disciplines, to provide students with a minor available to both disciplines. By providing an equal number of credits available from both disciplines, students majoring in theatre may also minor in musical theatre and students majoring in music and music education may do the same.
In addition to music and theatre students, students from other disciplines may also earn this minor. Students who wish to expand their knowledge of musical theatre, perhaps for a post-baccalaureate avocation in community theatre, would certainly benefit from earning this minor.
