All traditional freshmen are advised by freshman advisors who work in partnership with a Connection Leader, a peer mentor who aids freshmen in the transition to college. At the time of enrollment, all ACCESS, transfer, and second degree students are advised by transfer advisors who work in partnership with a Links Mentor, a peer mentor who aids transfer in transition.
Many students have one advisor. Westover Honors students have a major advisor and a Westover advisor, and students with double majors have two advisors. Students may also choose a minor advisor.
