We invite applications for a full time, tenure track position in Special Education beginning fall 2021. Teaching responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of special education, along with teacher preparation. Additional responsibilities include advising, school and campus-wide committee assignments, service to the community, strong evidence of established or promising research and scholarly activity, and a willingness to teach courses connected to the College of Education, Leadership Studies, and Counseling in the Westover Scholars Program or General Education programs as needed.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Special Education with extensive knowledge of theory and practice. Practical experience with and knowledge of high-incidence disabilities, inclusion, collaboration, assessment, and evidence-based instructional practices is needed. Experience in adapted curriculum or early childhood special education is preferable. Teaching experience in a k-12 classroom, college or university teaching and supervisory experience, and online teaching experience proficiency in educational technologies are preferable. University of Lynchburg is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the University.
