Legacy Lynchburg alum Victoria Mason ’20 says making a difference in students’ lives is what motivates her to be the best she can be. “My favorite part about teaching is helping my students grow and learn no matter where they are in life,” she says. “Making a difference in a student’s life isn’t always academic-based, but also giving them the skills to be the best person they can be.”
Now an elementary teacher with Lynchburg City Schools, Mason, who majored in interdisciplinary teacher education, appreciates the opportunities she received from the University:
“Lynchburg provided me with many opportunities to get out in the community and interact with local students. It allowed me to take part in diverse situations on subjects, grade levels, and students with various needs. The education department helped me focus on my talents to be the best teacher I can be for my students.”
