The Lynchburg Alumni Association’s Sports Hall of Fame was created in 1978 to acknowledge and honor exceptional athletes and teams for their athletic achievements, leadership skills, and team contributions in school. Men’s teams started competing in NCAA Division III athletics in 1975, while women’s teams joined in 1981. Before those years, competitions were held directly with other colleges and universities.
