First-Year Student Checklist

The steps below can also be found on your applicant status page. Get ready for Lynchburg in nine easy steps:

1. Plan a Visit

Schedule a campus tour, attend an Open House, or check out our virtual tour.

2. Pay Your Deposit
Secure your spot by paying your enrollment deposit by May 1.

  • Full-time students: $300
  • Part-time students: $100
3. Submit Schedule Planning Form (SPF)

Submit your Schedule Planning Form (SPF) by May 15, or one week after paying your deposit.

4. Register for Student Orientation

Orientation is required for all undergraduate students new to the University.

  • After making your orientation reservation, you’ll need to pay your orientation fee through the applicant status page.
5. Submit New Student Housing Application

Submit your Student Housing Application by June 30.

6. Select Your Roommate

You need to select your roommate between May 1 and June 30. If you haven’t chosen a roommate by June 30, one will be assigned to you, and you will be notified by July 5. If you prefer a single room, you can opt for a single-room buy-out.

Room selection will take place on July 9-11, and you will receive details through your University of Lynchburg email.

7. Submit Health Form

Submit your health information form and required immunization records by July 15 for the Fall semester. For questions, please visit the Health Center website or call 434.544.8357.

  • To submit forms, log into the Student Health Portal with your University network username and password. Then, complete your health information forms.
8. Submit Official Transcript(s)

Submit all final transcripts by July 30 or one week after we receive your enrollment deposit.

If you expect AP, IB, or Dual Enrollment credit, you must send scores and a final transcript from the college/university that issued the credit and/or degree to the University of Lynchburg. Otherwise, you may have to repeat those courses at Lynchburg in your first year.

9. Check in to the University
Students will receive more information in July about completing the online check-in process. All students must complete this process.
10. Pay Your Tuition and Fees
  • View your financial plan invoice and make your payment by Aug. 1.
  • If using a loan, ensure it’s certified by the due date.
  • Payment can be made at payment.lynchburg.edu.

11. Residential Move-In

Move-in dates are:

  • Aug. 15, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Aug. 16, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Look for an email in July to select your specific move-in time.

12. Attend Hornet Days

Hornet Days (Aug. 17-19) is required for all new students. It will help you get acclimated to campus life and kick off your Lynchburg journey!
